As part of a new series of paintings, this work portrays a youthful Neptune, the Roman god of the sea and fresh waters, while collecting water from a stylized fountain. Geometric shapes and abstract foliage are arranged to form a composition that feels both balanced and gently asymmetrical. 
 
Drawing inspiration from the softened palette of ancient frescoes, the painting is composed of thin, translucent layers of colour. These delicate hues dissolve into a poetic, blurred atmosphere.
