As part of a new series of paintings, this work depicts Lympha, the ancient Roman goddess of freshwater and fountains, gently pouring water from an antique vessel into the earth. Geometric forms are arranged to create a composition that is both harmonious and subtly asymmetrical.
Inspired by the muted tones of ancient frescoes, the painting is built up through thin, translucent layers of color. These soft hues merge into a delicate, poetic atmosphere, as if the image were softly diffused by time.
