As part of a new series of paintings, this piece portrays Epona, the goddess of horses in Gallo-Roman religion, who was also associated with fertility and motherhood. The composition presents her figure alongside a horse, set among abstract leaves and geometric forms. Soft pastel chalk outlines create a graphic quality, while delicate layers of paint lend an aged, poetic atmosphere inspired by ancient frescoes.
